Welcome to the new Bloom website! We are so, so excited to finally unveil it. We’ve been busy behind the scenes preparing this new launch. We took the week off, got some extra babysitting, and dubbed this week our first annual “web week.”
It felt good to actually make time to work on our business, instead of just keeping up with the day-to-day work of working in our business and serving our customers. And now, we feel refreshed, organized, and energized to continue moving forward and releasing some new themes.
You may have noticed, but we switched our domain from bloomblogshop.com to designbybloom.co. This switch has been on our heart for a while now and was prompted by several factors. Both JT and I have had our own collection of themes in our own “styles” on our own websites. We worked on the them together, but we felt a little scattered and like we weren’t operating as a team as well as we could.
At the start of the year, we took a step back and re-evaluated everything. We agreed that we should be operating under the same name and combining our efforts.
Changing Our Name
JT felt like the name “Bloom Blog Shop” was too niche for his customers as the themes he created were more for websites, and not just blogs, even though they are versatile enough to use for either. (If you’re curious, you can view his themes here: Showcase Pro, Maker Pro, and Gallery Pro.) I wanted to keep the name Bloom as we have a good customer base built up and I love the meaning behind our name… encouraging people to turn their dreams into a reality and letting their ideas, dreams, and businesses bloom.
We came up with the name Design by Bloom which would also allow for us to branch out into more custom work at some point. Also, in the footer of all our themes, it says “Design by Bloom” and that name immediately felt like us. I’m thinking I’ll have onesies made with #designbybloom for our boys. 😉 It is the family business after all!
So, here we are, rebranded as “Design by Bloom” with a fresh new look! We’ve implemented many new features that have been on our to-do list for a while now. It feels so, so good to get those items checked off our to-do list! As I’m sure many business owners can relate to, it’s easy to know what we should be doing but a totally different ball game actually implementing what we know we should do.
Time is such a valuable resource and with two children, a growing business, a home remodel, and JT’s day job, it’s hard to come by! We’ve learned a lot of good tips this year that we will share in another blog post.
Enter With Grace & Gold
But, the most important lesson we’ve learned this year, is that we have to outsource. We can’t do it all! Especially with two similar, yet slightly differing views on what our new design should like, we knew it would be best to involve a third party. This would be the most time conducive and enjoyable process. We had the pleasure of working with the gals at With Grace & Gold. They did a phenomenal job and helped us hone our home page design and content to fit our audience. We highly recommend them and they literally couldn’t be any sweeter! We very particular and their turn-around time was amazing. Plus, their style is soooo good.
The New Look
Without further adieu, here are a few of my favorite features on our website!
The most significant improvement is that you can now buy our themes directly on our website! This has been on our to-do list for over two years and we’ve finally did it. Better late than never, right?!
The most valuable feature to our existing customers, is our updated support documentation. You can now easily search your questions and navigate quickly through each FAQ.
Our showcase is now fully updated and you can sort through the various websites by theme. A game changer for perspective customers and I’m so sorry we are just now getting that feature up! We still have a lot of inspiration to add, so please submit your site here to have it added to our showcase. We love, love, love seeing how our customers are using their themes!
New installation packages! You guys have been asking for these services and here they are. We even have automatic intake forms set up so it’s so, so easy to get started. These services free up our customers to focus on their content and businesses while we set up their website for them. Time is just so valuable!
We now have an affiliate program!! If you’re loving your design by Bloom, simply share your design with your audience and earn a commission. It really is that simple. We are so grateful for all of your support and this allows us to show our appreciation to you. You will earn 30% commission on any sale from our shop. Amazing, right?
This feature just makes my heart go pitter patter, but I love, love, love the design of our rotating testimonials on our home page! It allows us to share your sweet words and beautiful faces with our audience. I’m crazy about how it looks!! I love business owners sharing resources with one another and building our businesses together.
And, we’ve finally launched our new Design by Bloom instagram feed– check it out! I’m excited to grow that social media channel this year.
