Why It Is Valuable to Work with a Specialized Brand & Website Designer

August 25, 2019

I am sure many of you have struggled with branding at some point and, more specifically, finding the right designer to work with. As a former interior designer and current brand designer who has experienced the rebranding process first hand, I completely understand this!

Not long ago, before I had the idea of rebranding Design by Bloom (you can read more about my rebrand story here),  I started to notice that my creativity and my passion was fading away. I was too busy working on what I thought I should be working on and trying to fit myself into other designers’ parameters.

That’s when I took a leap of faith and decided to go with a rebrand that would not just change the visual appearance of my business, but also craft a new message that speaks to one specific audience – interior designers.

Was it scary to narrow down my client list and become a specialized brand designer? Absolutely. But it has given me so much freedom and joy in my work.

Maybe you are looking for different ways to leverage your brand, but you don’t know where to start. Maybe you’ve already sent a few inquiries to brand designers to see if they can help you, but you can’t decide if they are  a good fit with your business.

In this blog post, my goal is to share with you the advantages of working with a brand designer specialized in interior design (like me!) and how it can accurately represent and uplift your brand.

When I had my interior design business, I was (and still am) passionate about creating spaces that clearly represented my client’s values and dreams. I didn’t do this just because I thought it was a neat thing to do. Instead, I treated it as my calling. I wanted to make a significant impact in people’s lives.

Needless to say, my interior design background has hugely impacted my business. It has allowed me to use my knowledge in this area to serve my clients specifically and strategically.

Here’s why it is valuable to work with a specialized brand designer:

    1. Specialized brand designers often have education backgrounds in the field their clients work in.

They understand the best strategies for helping businesses grow in their particular area of expertise. For example, at Design by Bloom I strive to serve my clients to the best of my ability by applying my knowledge in interior design to the branding strategies I create.

    2. You become a VIP.

I am sure that if you are going to invest thousands of dollars in branding, you want to make sure that you are on the VIP list and that your business is in good hands. Generally speaking, specialized brand designers like myself focus heavily on custom work and therefore ensure that we have the capacity to dedicate our time and energy to each client and project.

    3. You need your brand to visually connect with what your business does.

Brand designers specialized in interior design will have a solid understanding of how to make that possible. Communicating the mission and vision of your business is just as important as aesthetics. Nothing is worse than having someone land on your website and find it confusing because what they see doesn’t quite line up with the work you offer. As much as we hope people won’t be quick to judge, it’s sadly what a lot of people do when looking for services online. This is why it is so important to create a brand that not just catches people’s attention, but also matches up with the promises made by you and your business.
